Collier County, Florida GIS Asset Management System
Description
Collier County is a 1,500 mile data collection project where DTS used an imaging van equipped with forward facing digital cameras and Global Positioning System (GPS) technology to collect video logs of the roadways.
The video data was used to then extract 21 unique assets along with attributes of along the right-of-way and center medians for multiple departments in the County. Along with each asset there is an accompanying digital image to display the current condition of the asset during the collection project. All the data that was extracted was linked and imported into their existing asset management system.
All of these assets are available through the County’s Internet-based GIS. The graphic below illustrates how a user can query information related to any asset feature and view associated maintenance, work order and Capital Improvement Planning activities.
